Art of the Warrior (AOTW)

1. Art of the Warrior (AOTW) is a series of workshops, training courses and fieldwork for spiritual growth and energetic transformation that constitute a proposal for life that is based on the realization and awareness of our energy body and our relationship with the being who gives us nourishment, guidance, shelter and love: Grandmother Earth.

The techniques, training and proposals within this work come directly from the teachings of Don Juan Matus, (Toltec sorcerer/elder) as documented by Carlos Castaneda and further organized and developed by Victor Sanchez, Don Miquel Ruiz and Mark Edwards.

Supplementary teachings and practices are included in the courses by the indigenous people of Mexico and North America, as well as, from India and various Asian Chi Kung practices. This material is incorporated sparingly, only as a means to augment and better illustrate the themes and practices originally proposed by Don Juan and Don Genero, which is the core emphasis of AOTW.

2. Seeing/Sorcery vs. Shamanism

Art of the Warrior is not a "shamanism" school. We do not instruct participants in any indigenous modalities of healing, ceremony or medicine practices. It is our view that only indigenous cultures have the right and expertise to pass on such knowledge.

The work proposed by Don Juan, Don Miquel Ruiz and Carlos Castaneda is a form of seeing and sorcery that is not culturally bound and is directly applicable to the individual, regardless of ethnic or cultural background.

3. Order and Sequence of Workshop

All training courses are presented in the correctorder as outlined by Don Juan/Don Genaro. Our work is not a philosophy or belief system, but an active series of training practices similar to the martial arts in approach. We conceive of "sorcery" as a practical living experience rooted in inner silence and a direct relationship with energy, the natural powers and Grandmother Earth.

It is our contention that modern man's problems (emotionally, sociologically, spiritually, physically and environmentally, have occurred because of our movement away from natural laws of the earth and spirit. Thus, AOTW's function is to reintroduce the participants to the enormous power of Grandmother Earth and the natural powers of our universe for both the purpose of balance and freedom. AOTW maintains the highest respect and humility for this work, as it is sacred.
